How we implement ESG

Our sustainability strategy is centred on the three ESG criteria for sustainable business. These three criteria illustrate how broadly the topic of sustainability must be applied today. They span an area from equal employment opportunity to product development all the way to sustainable financing strategies.

Our levels of implementation

Executive Board VHV a.G. / VHV Holding SE

The highest authority of the VHV Group makes strategic decisions, monitors sustainability management and sets group-wide standards for it.

ESG-Committee

The Executive Board of VHV a.G. and VHV Holding makes strategic decisions, manages a unified sustainability management system and monitors its implementation across the group through regular dialogue.

The sustainability manager

As a central point of contact and expert, the unit manages operational sustainability management and takes on coordinating and Group-wide implementation tasks.

ESG experts

ESG experts analyse risks and opportunities in their field, work closely with the sustainability manager and contribute their own topics and ideas.

Principles for Sustainable Insurance

The PSI support the sustainable transformation in insurance technology with the help of four principles, to which VHV Group, as a member, is committed.

The PRI are a global investors’ initiative which has developed six principles for responsible investment. The VHV Group has made a commitment to implement those principles.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate management. The VHV Group has been a participant in the UN Global Compact since April 2023.

An employer’s initiative for promoting diversity in companies and institutions with the goal of advancing recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the workplace. The VHV Group signed the Charta der Vielfalt in 2023.
