Your dual course of study with our company takes three years and is taught in cooperation with the excellent Hannover Business School (FHDW). Between the 30 paid holidays per year and your theoretical lecture blocks at the college, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to apply your knowledge in practice in any of the business units of the VHV Group.

Business information technology

  • You are taught IT skills and business interrelationships in different workshops and projects.
  • You learn about software development, design and architectures.
  • You facilitate different business decisions by participating in database development, implementation of data management systems, and data analysis.
  • In cooperation with the specialised insurance units, you examine business processes to deploy information technologies efficiently.
  • You are the interface between internal and external software development and the users.
  • You take an active role in choosing your assignments during the work phases.

Computer science

  • You are taught IT skills in different workshops and projects.
  • You learn about programming new systems and maintaining existing ones in client/server and mainframe environments using structured and object-oriented methods.
  • You learn about information storage in databases and their evaluation.
  • You take an active role in choosing youra ssignments during the work phases.

What you bring to the table:

  • General or technical advanced education certificate with excellent or good marks in mathematics and German.
  • You are highly motivated, think logically, and have structured work habits.
  • Your horizon is not limited, you have an imagination “outside the box”.
  • Approval from FHDW for your study programme after you have been selected.
  • Nobody’s perfect, and not all career paths lead straight to the goal. Take the opportunity and apply now – even if you don’t satisfy all the requirements just yet!

Your prospects/pay

‍After your studies, a number of exciting and sophisticated career options are open to you – it qualifies you for both high-level technical work as well as management functions at the various locations of the VHV Group. Once you have assumed your new role, we continue to support your professional and personal development. You can reach your goals through our VHV Academies or take advantage of company-sponsored continuing education measures (e.g. for a master’s programme).

Your pay

‍1st year: 1,205.00 €

2nd year: 1,282.00 €

3rd year: 1,370.00 €

In accordance with collective agreements, you will receive holiday and Christmas bonuses and a company pension plan. In addition, you will enjoy further benefits (e.g. cost reimbursement for schoolbooks). We also pay your tuition and examination fees.
